Step in to a New Day- Find your JOY again!
It's a new day, we can choose to find joy and create a life we love despite living in the midst of trauma and chaos. We have to let the past go, this means acceptance of what is the reality in your life. This is probably one of the hardest parts of the journey you will ever walk. You will come to a point where you will start to come to a place of awareness and then acceptance. For years, we have struggled with the effects of trauma with extreme behaviours and deep conversations that would break your heart in to many small pieces.
Small moments of joy can be found in the mundane and everyday experiences. Instead of triggers we can look at these as "glimmers", tiny moments of HOPE! When you start to look for the good things in your life no matter how small, you will begin to see more. Keep focusing on the good when you can; it will help you get through the hard times.
. Then Bam out of Nowhere we are back in CRISIS and I just deal in the moment. Trauma survivors are great in an emergency! We have to find ways to let our nervous system heal and return back to homeostasis.
"BURN THE SHIPS"
Take tiny steps each day to "Burn your Ships" and put the past behind you and find yourself through being grounded in the present moment. This song has helped me process and find some closure in a long very difficult journey. Perhaps it can help you too! Let go of the past to move forward in to a new tomorrow. There is hope and healing after abuse. xo
